Great to see Susan and David Murphy again (many years after I was their tour guide in Umbria) in Sacramento on February 19th for the cooking class in their home. Many University of Santa Clara alum (like me) in this enthusiastic and “participatory” group of Murphy friends and relatives, including their grandson, Cooper. Cooper made and served our first antipasto, the tomato/rucola bruschetta and enthusiastically chopped and diced away during our class…

The rains bucketed down in the Los Angeles area during these first days of my February/March US cooking lessons/lectures tour.
Rains poured in the patio door of my cousin Tom’s house in Monarch Beach and mud slides invaded over forty houses in the La Canada area. Tom hosted two wonderful cooking classes for me at the reacreation center of his community center as the rains battered the windows and winds howled outside.

My annual U.S. tour is set and kicks off on February 4th, 2010 in Los Angeles, concluding March 21st in Washington, D.C. I’ll be cooking and lecturing my way coast-to-coast for 6 weeks as I bring Umbria to the U.S. From Los Angeles, on to San Francisco, then Seattle, Denver, Milwaukee, Pittsburgh, New York, Philadelphia, Charlotte, N.C…and finalmente, Washington, D.C. Some cooking classes have room for other participants - and I do have time for additional cooking classes and lectures in a few locations.
